Brigades[]
Brigades are one of the main combat units of the Australian Army. A brigade is usually made up of several battalions or squadrons, and in turn is part of the make up of a division. A brigade that is used in direct combat is also known as a "Unit of Action".
Command[]
After the 2030 restructure of the Australian Defence Force, the commanding officers of Brigades became officers holding the rank of Brigadier.
